I hope the DVD version has all of those features aside for the last one which seems to be a Blu-Ray exclusive. I'm too poor to buy into the Blu-Ray trend at the moment.

It escapes my mind to fathom how I could have possibly missed this, so thanks for steering me in the right direction there, TheNeverDead! Very reasonably priced too, so you can't beat that.

Great times to be a DVD collector right now.

You're welcome. Glad I could be of help.

The DVD itself is barebones but at least we have this classic on DVD. I had it on VHS for awhile up until I acquired the DVD last year.

Now they just need to release Class of 1999 II: The Substitute on DVD because I've never seen it & don't feel like hunting down a tape of it.

So true. I was fortunate enough to obtain the VHS when the local Hollywood Video store were liquidating their tapes in favor of DVDs...BUT, like all VHS movies I have, I like to have the DVD versions too, so this works out great. Especially since my 2 year old VCR just started malfunctioning and eating my VHS tapes (thankfully none that are of importance).

Class of 1999 2, huh? Well, if you can, see it as a curiousity, but don't go into it expecting too much because trust me when I say that it totally blows. Could have been much better if Mark Lester were involved, IMHO. I will say that Sasha Mitchell was bad*ss in anything he played in and this movie is really no exception in that regard...

Just a reminder that this comes out today! I'm going to call ahead to Best Buy & Wal-Mart to see if they have any copies before I actually go to either place.

This movie is awesome it's just one of those movies that everything just clicked with me. I loved all the one liners by Tom Atkins and just the whole feel of the movie it had just about every single 80's cliche you can think of in it.

I really hope it gets a dvd release because it is well worth watching. If you haven't seen it and get the chance go for it.

It's Miller time!

Mention that movie one more time when we're on the phone and I might have to kill you :P lol

Great DVD.

Excellent supplements as well.

It's funny, I never picked up on the Jaws references. And they're so blatant.

I always really liked the music as well. The opening title sequence is very spooky. Barry Devorzon (The Warriors) did it. Never knew it.

It's also obvious Tom Atkins is still in prime form to do any sequels or Carpenter stuff.

He actually looks better now.

I finally got a copy of this at Wal-Mart last Saturday. I haven't watched the movie yet in its remastered glory but I did watch the awesome special features.

I am very satisfied with this release. It was worth the wait for us to get such a great DVD/Blu-Ray of this classic gem.

Out of curiosity, just watched the trailer for that. Some very Phantasm-esque sequences in that. Looks fun!

only saw this once or twice when it came out, about a psychic vampire mentally controlling corpses in a mortuary where teens are trapped for the night.
